Finca Muxbal is located on the Mexico-Guatemala border in the foothills of the Tacaña Volcano. The Rodrigez family has been managing the estate since 1959. They have focused on utilizing its micro-climate to grow top notch coffees and maintain the environment.
Not only is Finca Muxbal concerned about maintaining the diverse flora and fauna of the region, but it also focuses on social responsibility. The farm has a Kitchen, a tortilladora, dining room, and housing for all of the farm workers. During the busy harvest season, the finca also has a school for all the children of the coffee community, allowing children to live with their parents in the forests during the harvest season.
Most coffees from Mexico come from either Chiapas or Oaxaca. This is a fantastic coffee representative of the volcanic soil on which it grew. We're excited to be roasting it and are appreciative of the farmers that grew it.
